Main Clearing

Where the warriors relax after a long day of work.

Lynxclaw padded into the camp, back from a long afternoon hunting patrol. She dropped her catch - Five mice and two rabbits - onto the fresh-kill pile.

Stonestep padded into the main clearing after a fine hunting patrol. After he dropped his catch he padded over to his mate Lightmist. His huge body and muscles were rippleing under his sleek black pelt.

Lynxclaw purred a greeting as he walked past.

"I want to be Earthclan you two be Iceclan" Shellkit said
"No fair! I wanna be Earthclan!" Honeykit wailed
"Yea!" Snowkit said
"Dont Fight how about Snowkit and Honeykit be Earthclan this time and you can be Iceclan Shellkit" Silverwing said

Stonestep mewed back a greeting to Lynxclaw. He stared at Lightmist and purred. Then he turned is dazzling blue gaze to the kits that were playing and mewed, "They are a hand-full, but sweet."

Lynxclaw felt a pang of sadness in her heart. How she wished she could have kits! If only someone liked her...

Stonestep noticed that Lynxclaw looked sad. He felt a pang of sadness for her, but knew he might upset her if he asked. Stonestep then turned to Lightfrost and mewed, "You would make a great mother one day." Stonestep wondered if his mate wanted kits as much as he did. But no matter what, he would love her always.

"Thank you. You would be the best father any kit could ever wish for. I hope we have kits soon." Lightmist sighed, her lavender eyes sparkling with longing.

Earthstar lazily padded into the clearing, yawning. "How is the Clan, Stonestep?" Earthstar asked his deputy, shaking his head vigorously trying to wake up.

Stonestep was about to reply to Lightmist, but when he heard his leader's mew he turned to face him and mewed back, "Everything is great Earthstar. The Clan is well fed and the hunting came back with plenty of prey." Stonestep informed him, as he raised a massive paw to give it a wash.

"Mama?" Honeykit said
"Yes Honeykit?" Silverwing replied
"I'm hungry (XD)" Snowkit said
"me to!" Shellkit and Honeykit said at the same time
"Ok" Silverwing replied as she went to the fresh kill pile and grabed a mouse and mewed a greeting to everyone

Stonestep then turned to Lightmist and mewed, "I would love to have kits too. They will be perfect." Stonestep purred, his blue eyes glowing at the thought.

Lightmist purred and gave a polite nod to her leader who was also Stonestep's father.

Earthstar returned Lightmist's greeting. "Have you sent any patrols out yet?" he asked his son, a hint of trouble in fern green his gaze.

"Yes, Earthstar. I just sent out a border patrol out not to long ago. They should be back soon. Why?" Stonestep told Earthstar, wondering why his father looked so worried.

"I want you to go on a hunting patrol with me...I need to have a talk with you." Earthstar replied.

Lynxclaw suddenly felt a sharp pain in her leg. "Ouch!" she cried out.

Earthstar whirled around. "Are you okay?" he asked, seeming uncharacteristically jumpy.

Lynxclaw gave her pelt a few embarrassing licks. She had not expected to mew so loudl and disturb the leader. "Just a few thorns in my nest." she muttered.

Stonestep was wondering why Earthstar seemed to be jumpy and worrysome. "Of course i will join you." Stonestep mewed.

Lynxclaw seemed eager to change the topic. "Can I join you?" she asked.

"Thank you.. let's go now. Lynxclaw, you are in charge while we're gone." Earthstar mewed, padding out of camp.

Stonestep turned to face Lynxclaw, his dazzlig blue eyes soft, "I am sorry Lynxclaw, I would love for you to join, but Earthstar needs to speak to me in private." Stonestep looked at the she-cat and wondered if she was hurt.

"I am also sorry. But as Stonestep said, I need to talk to my son alone. I hope you understand." Earthstar apologized.

Stonestep then brushed past Lynxclaw gently, guestering that he was sorry, and then mewed to his father, "Shall we go now?"

"Yes." Earthstar said and hurried out of camp.
