Coldfang's handsome tortiseshell pelt glowed in the sun. He inherited his striking pelt from his mother. Even though he is a tom, he got the rare colored fur. "Heatherstorm! Heatherstorm!" Coldfang yowled.

Icestep padded over to Coldfang. "Hey! I can't believe that she's already a warrior!" she mewed, remembering Heatherstorm when she was a kit.

"Yes, neither can I." Coldfang mewed. "She will make a fine warrior." He mewed.

"Yes, her and Highstar are pretty close...don't ya think?" she asked, winking. Darkheart rolled his eyes and mumbled "I wish you'd stay outta other cats' love affairs."

Heatherstorm, over hearing the conversation,her pelt burning, got some prey and ate it so she could sit vigil tonight.

Coldfang mewed a greeting to Heatherstorm, seeing her in the corner of his vision.

Icestep purred. She'd had a crush on Coldfang since she was a kit and had only told Darkheart, her best friend.

Night had fallen and Heatherstorm heard the soft snoring of her clanmates that where sleeping Heatherstorm knew it was almost Sunrise and she could sleep soon

Icestep's nest was convienantly right in between Darkheart's and Coldfang's. She snored softly and rolled over,her tail landing next to Coldfang's.

Coldfang felt a tail land onto the him and he turned to see that it was Icestep's tail. He purred softly and then curled deeper into his nest.

Icestep's tail curled around Coldfang's, she thought this was a dream and purred loudly, whispering "I love you, Coldfang."

Coldfang had slept the rest of the night, sleeping peacefully. Although he thought he head someone mew, but he couldnt be sure.

When morning came, Heatherstorm yawned while waiting for the cats to come out to the clearing.

Icestep woke up purring. Then she saw that her tail was intertwined with Coldfang's and stared at the the two tails in shock, not moving an inch.

Coldfang was still sleeping, the soft rise and fall of his chest and the warmth of a tail ( Razz

) made him feel comfortable.

Darkheart saw Coldfang's tail intertwined with Icestep's and was furious. He pouced onto Coldfang. "How dare you get her hopes up like that!" he roared, unsheathing his claws.

Coldfang woke up with a start. "What?" He mewed still a little drowsy.

Coldfang stared up at Darkheart, in disbelief, wondering what he did, then he looked down at his tail.

"Get your tail away from Icestep's. NOW!" Darkheart growled angrily. He hadn't gotten the courage to even lick Icestep behind the ear, let alone intertwine tails with her!
