The Mountains

"Well, let's get back to Camp and tell Rockstar about our sucess!" Shadestep said, picking up her kill.

"Okay." Hawknight picked up his kill also and followed Shadestep back to camp.

Shadestep walked between the two toms. She inhaled deeply, closing her eyes in concentration.

Hawknight let his thoughts wander as they walked through the mountains.

Rockstar padded alongside his sister and occasionally sniffing the air for signs of prey.

Shadestep stalked toward a boulder and leaped gracefully into the air. Her lean body landed squarely on a hawk. She swiftly dealed a killing blow to it's neck.

"Good catch!" Hawknight purred.

Rockstar then mewed, "Yes, wonderful catch."

"Thanks. It's nothing really." she replied modestly.

Hawknight nodded.

Rockstar saw something out of the corner of his eyes. He turned around and leaped high into the air, despite his massive stature. Rockstar landed on an eagle, getting throw around on the bird's back . But he then managed to snap it's neck and bring it down.

"Wow, that was an awesome catch!" Shadestep meowed, running up to her brother.

"Thank you! The thing just begged to be caught." Rockstar mewed, brushing his pelt with his sister, who meant dearly to him.

Shedstep purred. Her brother was amazing! Catching an eagle midair was...mindblowing!

Hawknight got a little jealous inside. Seeing Shadestep with her brother and all of the love she gave him, made Hawknight feel sad, but he didnt let it show.

Rockstar purred liudly back as he his the large eagle in a crack in the mountains then pad back to join the group.

Shadestep followed her brother. Her toned body shivered as a sudden strong gust of wind came along.

Hawknight saw Shadestep shiver, so he padded close enough to her that she could get warmth from his thick pelt. And so Rockstar didnt notice.

Shadestep felt Hawknight move closer to her. Some part of her....liked it.

Hawknight was happy that she didnt flinch away. So he made a soft enough purr so that no one could hear.

Shadestep found herself leaning toward Hawknight. She shook her head to clear it but didn't move away.

Rockstar looked over at the other two cats in the patrol, Hawknight and Shadestep and saw them standing really close to each other. He let out a growl and mewed, "What are you doing with Shadestep?"

Hawknight heard his leader's growl and he quickly backed away, "Sorry." He mewed

"I was feeling dizzy." Shadestep shrugged.

Rockstar let out a faint snort but shrugged it off.

Shadestep rolled her eyes. Her broother could be so protective sometimes!

"Do you two want to head back? We caught plenty of prey on this patrol." Rockstar mewed, as though the incodent never happened.
